Fence rails in two sections and two lengths
Rails run between the posts and carry the boards. A 3.6m rail spans two 1.8m bays; the 4.2m rails suit wider post spacing with fewer joins.

Counting rails
Rails per row is the length of the run divided by the rail length, rounded up. Multiply by the number of rows. The calculator adds them up for you.
