Fence boards for closeboard runs
Flat 16mm boards nailed to the rails, side by side. The board length sets the height of the fence, so pick it first and build the rest of the order around it.
Working out how many boards
Fixed edge to edge, a 150mm board covers 150mm of the run, so a metre of fence takes just under seven boards. If you overlap them, or leave gaps, allow more or fewer to suit.
The 125mm board gives a tighter, narrower look along a 1.8m fence and needs more boards per metre.
Before you choose a length
- Keep the bottom of the boards just clear of the ground so they stay dry.
- Taller boards need longer posts and, above 1.8m, heavier rails.
- Planning rules can limit how high a boundary fence can be. Check with your local council before building tall.

Questions
Can I mix board lengths in one order?
Yes. Add each length to the basket separately. It all comes on the same delivery.
