Building your own fence? Get every piece in one delivery
A whole garden fence is a big DIY job, and running out of boards halfway is the worst part. Work out the full list first, then order it in one go.
Start with the calculator
Measure the run, choose the height, and the calculator lists posts, rails, boards and post mix. It's a guide for a straight run: add a gate post for each gate and a little spare for cuts.
The minimum order is £200.00 of timber, which a full back-garden fence normally reaches. Delivery is from £29.00.
The usual order of work
- 1
Set the posts
Every 1.8m, in post mix, checked for level and line.
- 2
Fix the rails
Two or three rows, depending on the height.
- 3
Nail on the boards
Edge to edge, checking they stay upright and finish just clear of the ground.

Questions
Will the delivery driver carry it into my garden?
No. Timber is left at the kerb or the nearest suitable point, so have a plan for moving it.
Do I need to be in?
No, as long as there's a suitable place to leave it. Add any notes at checkout.
